Bilateral and Multilateral (MITs) Investment Treaties are designed to provide protection to foreign investors against Government interference. Under these treaties, signatory countries give assurance investors of their commitment to protect investments. Investors are accorded the right to commence arbitration against the host country if there is a breach of this commitment.
